The road to inner peace

Yesterday, I heard a true story about a writer who loves writing and dreams of being a famous writer. However, he had another job for sustenance that distracted him from pursuing the writing that he loved. This year, he had multiple calamities in his life that affected his work until he got fired. He went home and started to write that

This year, he was fired from his job, his father passed away, his son had a big accident that broke his bones, and he missed school exams. He ended with, “This is the worst year in my life.”

He left this paper, and his wife wrote on the other side:

This year, you left work to finally write the book that you wanted to write for the past 30 years. This is a great blessing. God saved their son’s life with a miracle from an accident that caused him to stay home with them and they had a great time close to their son. Your father dies at 85 after spending a successful life. She ended with “This was the best year in our life.”

This is the difference between a person who can lose inner peace with the hard events in life and another who is able to pay the price of keeping their inner peace by paying the price for it.

The price of the Inner Peace

One of the most wanted wish is to stop the heated thinking of worries, depressions, and stress. We all want to replace all of this with inner peace and tranquillity. However, there is a price for attaining and keeping inner peace.

During our struggle in this life, there are hundred things that try to distract us away from inner peace, if we did not pay the price to protect it.

Forgetting the power of Allah

Satan will try his best to let you think you are fighting alone and forget that Allah is with us and he is the only one with power over everything. All our worries are in Allah hand. It is all

Allah wrote this as part of our story and it is the best for us.

All the grief from the past and the worries about the future steal the inner peace from us

I find myself exhausted, stressed, and irritated

O Allah, I ask you for your love, the love of those who love you, and the deeds that will bring me your love. O Allah, make your love more beloved to me than myself and my family and even cold water.

Give up hope for what other people have

It was narrated that Abu Ayyub said: “A man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, teach me but make it concise.’ He said: ‘When you stand to pray, pray like a man bidding farewell. Do not say anything for which you will have to apologize. And give up hope for what other people have. And Stay away from Greed and asking for more”
